He drove for Junior Johnson and Associates for seven years from 1974 to 1980 and for Ranier-Lundy from 1983 to 1987.

Yarborough drove his final year in NASCAR at his own team, Cale Yarborough Motorsports. He spent 30 years in NASCAR competing in 560 races and got 83 wins and 319 Top-10s throughout his career.
