He raced in the Cup Series from 1972 to the 2000s when it was known as the Winston Cup Series. Darrell Waltrip is a NASCAR Hall of Famer and multiple-time winner of the Most Popular Driver Award. However, his most notable appearances in the sport were with Hendrick Motorsports, Junior Johnson and Associates and Darrell Waltrip Motorsports, a team he started to compete in the Cup Series.
