Davey Allison was a second generation racer, son of ex-NASCAR racer and champion Bobby Allison. Davey used to race in the NASCAR Cup Series before tragically passing away in an unfortunate helicopter crash, aged 32. Davey Allison was a multiple time Crown Jewel race winner and claimed 19 victories in his short career in the sport. He was best known for driving the no. 28 car for Robert Yates Racing. He was born in Hollywood, Florida and was the oldest of the four children in the Allison household.

Davey Allison was a part of the Alabama gang founded by his father. He was inducted in the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2019 and became a part of the list of 50 Greatest NASCAR drivers ever. Allison Jr. had a string of third place finishes in the championship for two consecutive years before his untimely death midway through the 1993 season.
