Davey Allison was an ex-professional stock car racing driver native of Hollywood, Florida, in the United States. He was a full-time racer in the NASCAR Cup Series and was best known for driving the No.28 Texaco Havoline-sponsored car. He died in a helicopter crash in 1993. Allison was a second-generation driver in the NASCAR Cup Series and was part of the “Alabama Gang”. He became a part of the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2019. Allison was added to the list of the 75 Greatest Drivers of NASCAR in 2023 and previously to the list of the 50 Greatest Drivers of NASCAR in 1998.

Allison had won the Toyota Owners 400 race in the 1993 season before his untimely death.
