In a September 2015 interview, Kevin Harvick revealed how he approached in dealing with a fellow angry NASCAR driver after a race. The then-Stewart Haas Racing driver was asked by Jeff Gluck about his preferred method of dealing with an angry driver.

Harvick, who won the 2014 Cup Series title, had already developed a reputation for himself in the garage owing to some of his incidents in the years prior. Some of the most notable moments in which Harvick became a part of a scuffle between drivers on track included incidents with Kyle Busch, Gregg Biffle, Juan Pablo Montoya, and more.

And speaking about his approach in dealing with a fellow NASCAR driver who was mad after a race, Harvick said:

"It depends on who it is. Some of ‘em, you don’t care. Some of ‘em, you don’t call them and you just move on. But the guys you do respect and want to maintain a pleasant relationship with, usually it’s a text or a phone call. It just depends on how bad the situation is. If it’s an honest accident, then usually everybody knows anyway. If you did do something dumb, usually it’s a call."

Kevin Harvick mentioned that in a professional world, sometimes all that it takes to cool things down is a phone call.

He stated that doing that was 'more meaningful' than dropping a text.

Kevin Harvick opened up on his role in the 2014 Brad Keselowski vs. Jeff Gordon scuffle earlier this year

Following the Cup race at Texas in 2014, a big feud broke out between Brad Keselowski and Jeff Gordon. Interestingly, right before the verbal spat between the Penske driver and the HMS driver got physical, Kevin Harvick pushed Keselowski towards Gordon which kickstarted the big scuffle.

Earlier this year, the former #4 driver opened up on his role in one of the most memorable fights in NASCAR in recent memory. Harvick said that what he did was 'a very calculated moment.'

"It was awesome to watch, just not awesome to start, right? I was leaning on the decklid at the back of the car watching everything go down. I was like, 'move man [Keselowski], get in there!' And next thing you know, there's a massive fight on pit road. They weren't talking about me anymore," Kevin Harvick described in April via Fox Sports.

He mentioned that his moment of instigation was 'one of those calculations' that he would think of differently today. Harvick said that he wouldn't advise anyone to be the person who does what he did between Keselowski and Gordon.

Having said that, he acknowledged that his action ended up changing 'the direction of the conversation.' Harvick added that he ended up going to the Championship 4 in 2014 and put himself in a position to win the big prize, which is eventually what ended up happening.
