Former NASCAR driver Greg Biffle started competing in the stock car racing series in the late 1990s and retired from full-time Cup Series racing in 2016. The Washington native debuted in the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 1996. He won his first championship in the Truck Series in 2000 and later won the Xfinity championship in 2002.

Biffle, who raced for Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing (formerly Roush Fenway Racing) for most of his career, left the team in 2016 after finishing 23rd in the standings and did not race at all in 2017. He won 19 races, claimed 113 pole positions, and registered 175 top-10s over 16 years in the Cup Series. However, Biffle never officially announced his retirement and still returns to the track occasionally.

He won a Truck Series race with Kyle Busch Motorsports in 2019 and raced in five Cup Series events in 2022. He drove the No. 44 car for the NY Racing Team in the Daytona 500 and other regular season races in Vegas, Atlanta, Richmond, and Talladega. In 2024, Biffle reportedly chose not to race because of contract problems and J.J. Yeley took his place.

"I don’t have anything in the works right now" - Greg Biffle on racing at the 2025 Daytona 500

Greg Biffle debuted in the NASCAR Cup Series in 2002 with Roush Fenway Racing and drove the No. 16 Ford full-time for the team between 2003 and 2016. In November, Biffle revealed that he is looking for a "competitive car" to drive next season. However, he said that it is unlikely that he will race at Daytona in February.

During an episode of "Let's Go Racing with David Starr," Biffle talked about his plans for the Daytona 500 race in 2025 and said:

"I don’t have anything in the works right now, so I would say Daytona in February is probably slim. I definitely will be there. I love that time of the year and Daytona, so I’ll be down there wandering around, but as far as being behind the wheel, it’s probably unlikely this year [2025]." (00:18)
"I want to put something together and run another [Daytona 500] in a good, competitive car. So I need to get off my butt and start working on it and find a good car to drive...There's definitely some opportunities. I just need to go start shaking the trees and, uh, you know, get something worked out," he added.

Biffle received praise this year for his relief work during Hurricane Helene in October. He flew his plane to deliver supplies and help with rescue efforts.
