Kyle Busch is arguably one of the biggest NASCAR stars of this era, amassing two Cup Series championships and 63 race wins. With his success, it comes as no surprise that the driver owns several assets, including a 2016 Cessna 680A Citation Latitude private jet.

Busch is a 39-year-old veteran racing in the premier series full-time since 2005. He drives the No. 8 Chevrolet Camaro at Richard Childress Racing alongside Austin Dillon. According to Celebrity Net Worth, the driver is worth $80 million as of October 2024.

While Kyle Busch hasn't revealed details of his $18 million private jet for the most part, the Las Vegas native once posted about it on a COTA race weekend in 2022.

In an X post, Kyle Busch, who was sponsored by Cessna a few years ago, wrote:

“Guess who got his plane fixed.”

The midsize private jet, with the registration number N518KB, was captured by plane spotter 'sk Airplanes' last week taking off from Van Nuys Airport in Los Angeles, California.

For more details about the Cessna 680A Citation Latitude, let’s take a tour of the aircraft, courtesy of 'Aviation Base.'

Interior

Looking at the spec sheet, the private jet can be configured up to nine seats. The seats near the door can be replaced with a larger refreshment center as an option.

In terms of space, the interior has a cabin height and width of six feet and six feet and five inches, respectively. Meanwhile, the leg room is said to be measured at around 30 inches, with the seats capable of lying flat.

The baggage capacity can accommodate 1,245 lbs in its 127 cubic feet area, accessible only from the outside.

Performance

As for the performance, the Cessna 680A Citation Latitude is powered by two Pratt & Whitney PW306D1 turbofan engines capable of churning out 5,907 lbs of thrust. This allows a maximum cruise speed of 446 ktas or 513 mph, almost thrice the average speed of Next Gen cars on superspeedways like Talladega.

The powerplant configuration also allows a four-passenger range of 2,700 nautical miles (or about 3,107 miles), which is theoretically more than enough for a direct flight between Los Angeles and New York.

“The Cessna Citation Latitude features a broad flat-floor cabin with a 6-foot stand-up height at the price of a mid-segment private jet, which is why the variation has been a huge success for Citation,” Aviation Base said at the start of the tour.
“Designed with maximum comfort in mind, the Cessna Citation Latitude also has an excellent runway performance, making it one of the world's best-selling private jets. “

Kyle Busch is expected to dish out $4,000 for the estimated flight hour cost in his $18 million private jet. The estimated cost varies depending on factors such as airport fees and fuel prices.

Aside from Kyle Busch, renowned NASCAR drivers like Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson have their own private jets. The former driver owns a $12 million Hawker 800, while the latter has a Gulfstream G150 valued at around $16 million.
