Hendrick Motorsports driver Chase Elliott has raced in over 300 Cup Series races in his career so far. He has been a part of NASCAR since 2012, during his impressive stint in the junior series.

Son of veteran NASCAR driver Bill Elliott, Chase started racing early when he was just 13 years old. He took part in 40 races in 2010 across various series, and managed to pull in 38 top-10 finishes, winning 12 races. In 2011, NASCAR's first hint appeared on his racing portfolio as he struck a driver development deal with Hendrick Motorsports.

He made his full-time K&N Series debut in 2011 and it wasn't long before he won his first race at Iowa alongside eight top-10 finishes the following year. This put him in fourth place in the championship. He also participated in several ARCA races under the HMS tag and won Pocono in 2013.

In the same year, he made his debut in the Craftsman Truck Series. Delivering a strong performance, Chase Elliott, aged 17, became the youngest pole winner of the series at Bristol Motor Speedway. He won his first race in the series in Canada the same year.

Getting closer to the Cup Series, JR Motorsports signed Chase Elliott to race full-time in the Xfinity Series. In a dominating display of power, he won the championship in his debut season with multiple race wins under his name. His impressive performance promoted him to the Cup Series in 2015 after Hendrick Motorsports signed him. He has since won the championship once in 2020 and continues to race with the team.

He is running strong this season, racing for his second Cup Series championship. After a long-fought battle with his teammate Kyle Larson, Elliott finished in second place as the #5 Chevrolet added another win to this season's tally.

The two Chevys led the way in the final moments of the race. But the field was seemingly empty for Larson who only had to battle the oncoming lapped traffic. He won with a 7-second gap on his teammate right behind him, the two delivering a 1 - 2 for Hendrick Motorsports.

Discussing the race, Elliott mentioned that his car was at level with the #5 Chevy, but the latter managed to clear up the traffic faster and hence won the race.

"I feel like my car was really good. I don’t think his car was any better than mine," Chase Elliott claimed. "I think he did a little better job than I did getting into traffic, and that was certainly the difference. We were both just pacing ourselves waiting to get the lapped traffic. And I thought I had done an okay job, and he just was able to slice through there and I got hung up."
