Ingram was a native of Asheville, North Carolina in the United States. Jack Ingram was born on December 28, 1936 and passed away in June 2021. He spent the majority of his career racing in the Late Model Sportsman Series, which is now known as Xfinity Series. Ingram is a veteran in the Xfinity Series with 5 championships. Unlike other racers of his category, Ingram won his races when he was 45-50 years old.
Jack Ingram won three consecutive championships from 1972-1974 in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. He later won two more championships in 1982 and 1985, when the series was known as the Busch Series.
