Jack Ingram, also known as the Iron Man, was an American NASCAR Busch Series (NASCAR Xfinity Series) race car driver. Born on December 28, 1936, Ingram won 31 races, secured 164 top-10 finishes, and five pole positions in the Xfinity Series. He debuted in the NASCAR Cup Series in 1965 at Buddy Shuman 250, Hickory. He ran 19 races in the Cup Series over six years, securing four top tens and no wins. In 182, he debuted in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, and throughout his career, he mostly drove the No. 11 car.
Ingram has been awarded multiple times for his skillful driving- 1982 Busch Grand National Series Most Popular Driver, Name one of NASCAR’s 50 Greatest Drivers (1998), International Motorsports Hall of Fame (2007), NASCAR Hall of Fame (2014), Named one of NASCAR’s 75 Greatest Drivers (2023). Ingram mostly drove for Ford in the Grand National Series, followed by Dodge and Ford. In the Cup Series, he drove for Olds, Chevy, and Ford. In the Xfinity Series, Ingram drove for Pontiac, Olds, and Chevy, in different years. Ingram raced for two different teams in different years- Ingram Racing and Silver Racing.
