Joey Logano is on the verge of NASCAR history. A win at Phoenix this Sunday would give the #22 Team Penske Ford driver his third Cup Series championship, placing him among a select few with multiple titles.

The Connecticut native has already claimed two Cup Series championships with Team Penske in 2018 and 2022. A third title this Sunday at 34 years old could solidify his position as one of the greatest drivers in the organization's history.

Logano joined Team Penske in 2013 and has since found a spark in his career. After winning only two races during his first four years of Cup Series racing driving for Joe Gibbs Racing, Logano has registered 33 victories in the #22 machine and has made an appearance in the Championship 4 race in every even-numbered year since the start of the 16-driver format in 2014.

The 35-time Cup Series winner has done it all with Team Penske, including winning the Daytona 500 in 2015, delivering car owner Roger Penske just his second victory in the prestigious event at the time. Austin Cindric nabbed Penske's third win in the Daytona 500 in 2022.

Logano tallied three victories and his first championship in 2018, holding off Martin Truex Jr., Kevin Harvick, and Kyle Busch for the title win. He won his second championship in 2022 when he fended off Ross Chastain, Christopher Bell, and Chase Elliott in the championship race.

Logano's two championships set him apart from other Team Penske drivers. Brad Keselowski secured the organization's first Cup Series title in 2012, while Ryan Blaney claimed his first in 2022. Both drivers, including Blaney who will race for another title this Sunday, have one championship each.

Logano's success with Team Penske outshines that of past champions like Rusty Wallace and Kurt Busch. With two championships already, a third title would cement his legacy as the greatest driver the organization has ever seen.

The Championship 4 was set last Sunday at Martinsville

Joey Logano, who is gunning for his third Cup Series championship, will have to get through Ryan Blaney, Tyler Reddick, and William Byron to do so. Logano secured his spot in the championship race by winning the Round of 8 opener, while Reddick and Blaney clinched their berths with victories at Homestead-Miami and Martinsville, respectively. Byron made the Championship 4 cut by virtue of points.

Logano is aiming for his third championship, while Blaney seeks his second. Reddick and Byron, on the other hand, are both looking for their first. The action kicks off at the Phoenix Raceway on Sunday at 3 p.m. EST on NBC.
