His major accomplishments include winning the Coca-Cola 600 (thrice) and the 2017 Brickyard 400.

Kahne's talent was instantly recognizable when he won the 2004 Cup Series Rookie of the Year award. As a result, he did not have to struggle to secure sponsorship from major multinational companies.

Kahne's first car in the NASCAR Cup Series, in which he made his debut in the 2004 season and won the Rookie of the Year award, was the No. 9 Dodge Intrepid of Evernham Motorsports, which was sponsored by Dodge itself.

Dodge continued as the primary sponsor of the No. 9 car until the end of the 2007 season. During this period, Kahne's impressive seven race wins garnered significant attention for the car brand, which had made its comeback to the series in 2001.

At the start of the 2008 season, the No. 9 car secured Budweiser as its new primary sponsor. Budweiser, an American beer brand owned by the Belgian company AB InBev, continued to sponsor the No. 9 car even after the merger of Evernham Motorsports and Petty Enterprises at the end of the 2008 season. This merger resulted in the formation of Richard Petty Motorsports, where Kahne began racing starting from the 2009 season.

Kahne drove the No. 9 Budweiser Dodge until the 2010 season, winning three races. He departed from Richard Petty Motorsports during the Bank of America 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway to join the Red Bull Racing Team. This team was owned by Red Bull founders Dietrich Mateschitz and Chaleo Yoovidhya, and Kahne competed with them for the rest of the 2010 season and the entire 2011 season.

As the entire team was owned by Red Bull, it made them the primary sponsors. Kahne piloted the No. 4 Toyota during the 2011 season, achieving a sole victory at the Kobalt Tools 500 at Phoenix International Raceway. Subsequently, Kahne departed the team to join Hendrick Motorsports in 2012.

From 2012 to 2017, Kasey Kahne drove the No. 5 Chevrolet Camaro for Hendrick Motorsports. Initially sponsored by Farmers Insurance, Quaker State, and HendrickCars.com, the car later featured additional primary sponsors including Great Clips, LiftMaster, and Lowe’s. During his five-year tenure, Kahne achieved five race victories before departing in 2017.

Kahne joined Leavine Family Racing for the 2018 season, which would be his last season in the NASCAR Cup Series. His final car of his Cup Series career was the No. 95 Chevrolet Camaro, which was sponsored by Dumont Jets and Procore Technologies, thus becoming the last primary sponsors of Kahne's Cup series cars.
