As NASCAR takes a two-week break for the Olympics, speculation in the driver market has intensified. The silly season is in all its glory, as several free agents are available, and teams are busy strategizing their lineups for the upcoming season. This period often brings unexpected changes as drivers and teams work on securing deals that could influence their future championship prospects.

As negotiations are underway, fans and teams alike are keen to see how these decisions will impact the 2025 season.

Here are 7 free agents available for NASCAR's 2025 season

#1 Bubba Wallace

Bubba Wallace pilots the #23 Toyota Camry XSE, competing full-time in the Cup Series for 23XI Racing. Wallace is out of contract for the 2025 season but it is expected that he will sign a multi-year deal to stay on with 23XI. Although Wallace was having a difficult season, he has found his rhythm and has closed the gap between him and the playoff spots.

#2 Shane van Gisbergen

Shane van Gisbergen drives the #97 Chevrolet for Kaulig Racing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. He's been linked to a potential move to the Cup Series with Trackhouse Racing possibly acquiring a third charter. However, Trakchouse would need to decide between keeping Zane Smith, who is currently on loan with Spire, or loaning him out again, to bring SVG to the Cup Series.

#3 Hailie Deegan

Hailie Deegan will not be returning to AM Racing as a driver for next season. She has been in the spotlight as speculations around her return to NASCAR arise. HFT COO Joe Custer has been in talks with Deegan, and has recognized the potential the 23-year-old has. Although no contracts have been signed, Deegan appears to be a top candidate for HFT's Xfinity lineup.

#4 Erik Jones

Erik Jones is in his eighth full-time season in the Cup Series. He drives the iconic #43 for Legacy Motor Club. Following the Brickyard 400, Legacy Motor Club released several members of their #84 team to bring in some structural changes, which has thrown a spanner in the works for Jones, who is without a contract for the 2025 season.

#5 Riley Herbst

Riley Herbst pilots the #98 Ford for Stewart-Haas Racing in the Xfinity Series. As things currently stand, Herbst could be left without a seat for the 2025 season. Speculation suggests he might join 23XI Racing, as the team considers acquiring another charter for the upcoming season. His strong ties with Monster Energy could make him an ideal candidate for 23XI Racing's third entry.

#6 Harrison Burton

Harrison Burton currently competes in NASCAR's top division, for Wood Brothers Racing. Burton pilots the #21 Ford and has only managed to secure one top-ten finish this season thus far. WBR recently announced SHR driver Josh Berry as Burton's replacement, which has left him without a seat for 2025.

#7 Ryan Preece

Ryan Preece currently pilots the #41 Ford for Stewart-Haas Racing in the Cup Series. As SHR is exiting NASCAR at the end of this season, Preece is the only driver from their Cup Series lineup who hasn't secured a seat yet for the 2025 season. Racing for HFT in the Xfinity series is a probable move for the #41 driver, as Cole Custer makes his move to the top division.
