
The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series is the third tier racing series hosted by NASCAR. The Truck Series is one of three most important national stock car racing competitions in America. The Truck Series features a different collection of cars compared to other racing series. As its name suggests, the NASCAR Truck Series races using pickup trucks. The Truck series has many tracks in common with the other two NASCAR series. However, the races are shorter in length and focus more on dirt track racing. The Truck Series is considered the proving ground for the newer NASCAR driver. The younger drivers who perform best in the Truck Series get a chance to progress ahead in the NASCAR ladder. There are many NASCAR teams which also run driver development programs helping the younger drivers hone their talents. Many of the active and former NASCAR drivers like Brad Keselowski and Kyle Busch also field their own Truck series teams.
The NASCAR Truck Series has been sponsored by Craftsman since the 2023 season. The 2024 Craftsman Truck Series was won by Ty Majeski, who also won the final race of the season. NASCAR Truck Series features 23 races throughout the season. These include seven races which form the Playoffs format. The regular season is used to choose to the Top-10 drivers according to wins or points and invited into the Playoffs. The first three playoffs races consitute the Round of 10 and the last two ranked drivers in the Top-10 are eliminated. The top-8 drivers then compete in the Playoffs Round of 8 wherein 4 drivers are selected for the Championship Race. The Championship Race is the last race of the season. The final four drivers race in the championship race to decide the ultimate winner of the Truck Series and crown the season champion. The NASCAR Truck Series also features the same manufacturers as the other two NASCAR series. Ford, Chevrolet and Toyota are known for supplying vehicles in the Truck series. These vehicles are namely- the Chevy Silverado, Ford F-150 and Toyota Tundra. The engines are manufactured by these manufacturers in addition to Ilmor. The Truck Series cars are able to produce nearly 650 HP. The 31st NASCAR Truck Series season started on February 14, 2025, with the Fresh from Florida 250.

As of February 2025, Toyota has won the first race of the season with Corey Heim leading the way. They lead the manufacturers champions with 40 points to their name. Ford and Chevrolet closely occupy the remaining with one point separating the two manufacturers, as per NASCAR's official website.
