Hendrick Motorsports icon Chase Elliott picked his teammate William Byron as someone who he thought could write a good memoir. While NASCAR nears the end of its two-week break, Hendrick Motorsports asked its drivers who had the best stories to tell.
Chase Elliott currently drives the No. 9 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 at Hendrick Motorsports. He is the son of legendary Hendrick Motorsports driver Bill Elliott. According to Celebrity Net Worth, Chase Elliott has a net worth of $12 million.
Chase Elliott's array of accolades includes an Xfinity Series championship in 2014 and a Cup Series title in 2020. As of today, Chase Elliott flaunts 19 career Cup Series wins with the latest one coming at Texas Motor Speedway earlier in April. He was voted the Most Popular Driver from 2018 to 2021.
Needless to say, Elliott has been through a lot of ups and downs in his career, and would have several stories to tell. However, according to him, his teammate William Byron would be better at storytelling.
When asked who was most likely to write a memoir, Elliott said:
"William. Very studious-looking guy. I feel like he pays attention in English class and I feel like he just can put a good sentence together."
Chase Elliott's journey in NASCAR began in 2011 when Hendrick Motorsports signed him in their development program. Shortly after, Elliott made his NASCAR debut as a full-time driver in the NASCAR K&N East Series. The following year, he bagged his first NASCAR win at Iowa Speedway.

Chase Elliott's season so far has been different from what it was in 2023. Chase Elliott missed seven races last year; six due to his snowboarding injury and one due to a penalty at the Coca-Cola 600 for wrecking Denny Hamlin. He even missed out on the playoffs last year.
However, this year, Elliott brought an end to his 42-race winless streak at Texas. He sits second in the Cup Series standings with 739 points.
The American has led 179 laps this season and flaunts 9 top-5s and 11 top-10s. He also holds the 6th playoff spot, right behind reigning Cup Series champion Ryan Blaney.
Furthermore, according to a recent post by NASCAR insider Trey Ryan, Chase Elliott is among the top 10 drivers to have scored the most points in the NextGen era. Kyle Larson tops the list with 2964 points, followed by William Byron with 2935 points. Elliott is in P7 with 2736 points.
Chase Elliott's next race is the Cook Out 400 at Richmond Raceway on August 11th. The 400-lap event will commence at 6 PM ET and will be broadcast live on the USA Network and NBC Sports. Fans can listen to radio updates on MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
