Teenage Sprint Car sensation Corey Day is set to make his debut in NASCAR at Bristol Motor Speedway on September 19th, 2024. The 18-year-old racer from California will be driving for McAnally-Hilgemann Racing in the Craftsman Truck Series for four races this year.

Day began competing with dirt bikes. However, after an accident broke his arm, he switched to racing on four wheels. He began racing Sprint Cars in 2016 and quickly established himself as a rising star, winning multiple accolades in both local and national level competitions. Following his success in Sprint Car racing, Day shifted his focus to stock car racing with the ARCA Menards Series.

Spotting his talent in the Sprint Car Series, McAnally-Hilgemann Racing have offered the young racer a chance to compete in the ongoing Truck Series season. Day will be piloting the HendrickCars.com-owned #81 and #91 Chevrolet Silverado trucks for four races. The youngster expressed his excitement about joining one of NASCAR's three national series in the official press release.

“I’m excited to make my start in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series. I haven’t made many non-dirt racing starts but I’m ready to begin learning more about this type of racing. I know I will face some challenges but I feel confident in my ability to learn and I know that I have great support behind me with HendrickCars.com and McAnally-Hilgemann Racing. I just hope to represent them well," Day commented.

"It’s clear to see the raw talent," - McAnally-Hilgemann Racing owner Bill McAnally praises Corey Day's raw talent

Apart from Corey Day, McAnally-Hilgemann Racing owner Bill McAnally also expressed his excitement about the young driver joining the team. Here's what McAnally said in the official press release:

“We can’t wait to see what Corey can do in one of our Chevrolet Silverados. It’s clear to see the raw talent and speed that he has in a sprint car, and we’re excited to help him get acclimated to NASCAR racing. Corey has shown to be a quick learner in his career and we’re looking forward to him joining our team in these four races.”

As of now, Day is actively racing in the Sprint Car Series and has also tried his luck in the ARCA Menards Series. Additionally, he holds the prestigious record for the youngest winner in the USAC National Midget Series.
