The rumors surrounding Alex Bowman’s 2025 Cup Series season have finally settled. Rick Hendrick, the owner of Hendrick Motorsports confirmed that the #48 Chevy driver will "unequivocally" stay in the team for the next season.

Before the playoff opener at the Atlanta Motor Speedway kicked off, speculations about Bowman's switch to another team did rounds in the community. Even though the HMS driver has a contract until the 2026 season, his performance compared to his teammates posed a risk of losing the seat.

However, the eight-time Cup Series race winner confirmed that his future with Rick Hendrick, who has a net worth of $1B (via Celebrity Net Worth), is secure. Nonetheless, speculations about Bowman being loaned to Spire Motorsports for the next season gained traction.

Moving forward, the billionaire owner has silenced the buzz about the #48 Chevy driver prospect with the team. As reported by motorsports journalist, Alex Cavanna on X, Hendrick said that the Arizonian will undoubtedly be in the Chevrolet Camaro in 2025.

"Asked by @Jordan_Bianchi if Alex Bowman will “unequivocally” be in a HMS car next year, Rick Hendrick says yes," Cavanna wrote.

Bowman was the best-performing HMS Driver at the playoff opener race. He started 11th, finished third in both stages, and placed his Camaro in fifth place.

Alex Bowman addresses rumors about his prospects at Hendrick Motorsports

Alex Bowman's season stats are inferior when compared to his teammates, Kyle Larson and William Byron. However, his achievements are at par with Chase Elliott.

From 27 race weekends, Bowman and Elliott have collected a solitary win, seven top-5s, and 13 top-10s each. Byron has won three times, bagged eight top-5s, and 14 top-10s. Larson boasts the most achievements, with four race wins, ten top-5s, and 13 top-10s, and that too, from 26 race weekends, as he missed the Coca-Cola 600 race.

Bowman missed the 2023 playoffs after injuring his back in the High Limit Sprint car racing event that derailed his 2024 season. Nonetheless, before his return at the Quaker State 400 battle in Atlanta, where he posted his seventh top-5 finish, the HMS driver rubbished the notion of an 'uncertain' future.

When asked by journalist Alan Cavanna about the rumors, the 31-year-old shunned the speculations and replied:

"That rumor has certainly been annoying. Obviously, my contract is through the end of 2026. And all I can tell you is what my bosses have told me. And that there’s no plans to change anything. Rumors are just rumors. Hopefully, they’ll get their announcements done so my rumors stop. As far as I know, I’m driving the 48 next year and nothing’s changing," Bowman said.

Placed sixth, Alex Bowman is the second-best HMS driver in the playoff standings while Byron leads in fifth place. Meanwhile, the Lap 56 crash at Atlanta has sent Larson down to 10th.
