The fifth and final leg of preliminary action of the 38th annual Chili Bowl Nationals was finally done and dusted on Friday (January 12) at 5 pm ET.
The Hard Rock Casino Tulsa Qualifying Night was held at Tulsa Expo Raceway in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with a field of 80 entries with one winner and two drivers earning a starting spot for Saturday’s main event.
Driving the #39 for car owner Kevin and Jordan Swindell, the defending champion of Chili Bowl, Logan Seavey won the Hard Rock Casino Tulsa Qualifying Night. He grabbed the lead from Ryan Timms with two laps to go and stayed front without any challenge to win Friday night’s prelim race.
Seavey crossed the finish line by an impressive margin of 0.608 seconds ahead of Timms, who led 28 of the 30 laps. With a P2 finish, Timms locked his spot for Saturday’s A-Main.
Meanwhile, Andrew Felker finished third, followed by Steven Snyder Jr., and Emerson Axsom completed the top five. Bryant Wiedeman, Daryn Pittman, Ace McCarthy, Gavin Miller, and Cale Coons completed the top 10.
