NBA legend Michael Jordan co-owns NASCAR team 23XI Racing with active Cup Series driver Denny Hamlin. As Hurricane Helene caused a catastrophe, 23XI Racing and Jordan extended their support to provide relief for the affected areas.

$3.2 billion worth (according to Forbes) Michael Jordan has been with 23XI Racing since its inception. The team's name is an ode to his jersey number along with Hamlin's #11. Despite their charter struggle with NASCAR, the team has secured impressive performances by their #45, driven by Tyler Reddick, who was also crowned the 2024 regular season champion.

Hurricane Helene has devastated major portions of North and South Carolina, along with several other states in the southeast parts of the US. As efforts to rescue and rebuild are underway, Michal Jordan's 23XI released a statement extending their support for those affected by Hurricane Helene via a post on X (formerly Twitter).

"Following the destruction caused by Hurricane Helene, Michael Jordan and 23XI are donating $1 million to assist with relief efforts in North Carolina, our home. We are contributing $500,000 each to the NC Disaster Relief Fund and Second Harvest of Metrolina. Michael and 23X1 are committed to helping North Carolina move forward and encourage others to join in rebuilding our communities."

Additionally, Jordan, a North Carolina native, shared a few words of encouragement for the people affected in his home state. He said:

"While the process of recovery will take a long time, as a proud North Carolinian, I know firsthand the strength and resilience of the people in the state we call home, and we will get through this together."

Several other members of the NASCAR community are actively contributing to the relief and rescue operations for those affected by the catastrophic natural phenomenon.

NASCAR's Greg Biffle shares his thoughts on aiding Hurricane Helene relief

Former Cup Series driver Greg Biffle has been among those who have actively provided relief in North Carolina as Hurricane Helene hit the state harder than most.

Biffle is not the only NASCAR veteran to join in providing support for the people affected by Hurricane Helene, he is joined by 28-time Cup race winner Carl Edwards, who has been an integral part of Operation Airdrop.

The former Xfinity Series champion, Hendrick Motorsports and JGR sent a fleet of helicopters to provide aid for those stranded without supplies. Biffle spoke with Shannon Spake on NASCAR Daily, where he said:

"I think there was two helicopters in the air when we first saw the Facebook post. That next morning, there was probably 20 helicopters that showed up. By the end of the day there was probably 30 to 35 helicopters including you know NASCAR teams I think Hendrick and Gibbs had their machines up in the air," [10:05]

Moreover, Bristol Motor Speedway has opened its gates for Hurricane Helene evacuees at its Medallion Campground, free of charge.
