3 NASCAR wives with racing history, ft. Katelyn Larson

NASCAR is a sport that demands a lot of sacrifices. Staying away from their family and friends, the drivers travel continuously every week for races happening all over the country. Needless to say, they put a lot on the line as they buckle themselves to their rides, recording speeds of 180 miles per hour on average or sometimes even more.

However, it's not just men who are involved in this performance-based competitive sport. Several women, who happen to be the wives of famous NASCAR drivers, have also raced in the past or have had some kind of racing history. Let's look at three such NASCAR wives with a racing history.

1. Katelyn Larson

Katelyn Larson (Sweet) is the wife of Kyle Larson, driver of the No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet in the NASCAR Cup Series. Katelyn hails from a family of racers. His brother, Brad Sweet, is a stalwart in the arena of the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Racing series.

Sweet currently drives the No. 49 machine for Kasey Kahne Racing in the series and has been a former development driver for JR Motorsports in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. Furthermore, Sweet and Larson co-own the High Limit Racing Sprint Car Racing series.

According to The People, Katelyn Larson has been a marathon racer herself. She took part in her first marathon event back in 2019. Before that, she used to be an equestrian.

2. Samantha Busch

Samantha Busch is the wife of the two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch. She is an author, philanthropist, lifestyle blogger, fitness enthusiast, and social media influencer. As of today, Samantha Busch has 248,000 followers on Instagram alone.

Samantha and her husband used to be the co-owners of Kyle Busch Motorsports, a race team that competed in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. During its tenure, the team amassed 96 wins and seven owner championships.

Kyle Busch Motorsports was sold off to Spire Motorsports last year in September, along with Busch's manufacturing company, Rowdy Manufacturing.

3. Leah Pruett

Leah Pruett is the wife of former NASCAR driver and three-time Cup Series champion Tony Stewart. Stewart also co-owns Stewart-Haas Racing, a four-car race team that operates in the NASCAR Cup Series. Stewart-Haas Racing, or SHR, is expected to close down its Cup Series operation at the end of this year.

However, Stewart also owns a race team in the NHRA called Tony Stewart Racing. His wife Pruett competes in the series under the Top Fuel dragster category. The 36-year-old Californian is a 12-time Top Fuel national event winner. Besides that, she is the 2018 Factory Stock Champion, a three-time National Event Pro Mod Winner, and an NHRA Nostalgia FC Champion.

However, following her 27th consecutive season in the NHRA, Pruett temporarily exited the racing arena to start a family with Tony Stewart. The couple is expecting their first child this year in November.
