JR Motorsports' Late Model Racing prospect Carson Kvapil has been making a name for himself in the 2024 season. His impressive performances in the CARS Tour and his NASCAR debut means the Mooresville, North Carolina native could be gearing up for a big move come 2025.
Coming through the ranks of Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s Driver Edge Development program, Carson Kvapil has been a star in the making. The 21-year-old driver is the son of 2003 NASCAR Truck Series champion Travis Kvapil and has already made his debuts in the Truck and Xfinity Series.
While a late-model star, he has also made appearances in ARCA. Joining the JR Motorsports late model program in 2022, Kvapil continued to win races, securing the CARS Late Model Stock Tour Championship in back-to-back seasons in 2022 and 2023. With 10 wins in 21 starts for JRM in the series, his talent is undeniable.
The 21-year-old was scheduled to take part in 6 Xfinity Series races in the 2024 season, and has already made a strong impression with his four outings so far. He has recorded three top-5 finishes in Martinsville, Dover, and most recently, New Hampshire.
Kvapil's impressive performances have ignited speculations about his future in 2025. With that being said, here is a list of three potential teams Carson Kvapil could head for in the following season.
Carson Kvapil's potential destinations in 2025
#1. JR Motorsports
The most obvious choice on this list is JR Motorsports. Kvapil could very well continue his career trajectory with the team as a full-timer in the Xfinity Series. The North Carolina native has already cemented his status within Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s team, performing admirably as a late-model driver.
However, the uncertainty lies in whether any of the current JR Motorsports drivers will vacate their seats in 2025, potentially opening up a spot for Kvapil. If a seat becomes available, staying with JRM would provide Kvapil with a familiar environment and from a team that has nurtured his development.
#2. Kaulig Racing
Kaulig Racing could be another interesting option for Kvapil. The team has struggled with Josh Williams in the No. 11 car this season. With veteran driver AJ Allmendinger aging and Williams not delivering on expectations, Kaulig Racing might consider bringing in a young, promising driver like Kvapil to compete in the No. 11 car for 2025.
Carson Kvapil's addition could inject fresh energy and talent into the team. Furthermore, Kaulig Racing drives Chevrolet cars, which would keep Kvapil within the Chevrolet pipeline.
#3. Spire Motorsports
Spire Motorsports, which currently fields three charters in the Truck Series, offers another potential landing spot for Kvapil. If a move to the Xfinity Series does not materialize, Kvapil could turn to the Truck Series, where Spire Motorsports has shown potential.
Rajah Caruth, driver of the No. 71 for Spire, has impressed and could pilot the part-time No. 17 charter for Hendrick Motorsports in the Xfinity Series next season. This potential vacancy at Spire could provide an opportunity for Kvapil to join the team.
