As the 2024 NASCAR season unfolds, the stakes keep on getting higher. Every driver on the grid wants to outperform their competitors and secure a seat in the playoffs. However, sometimes those competitors can be your teammates, and while stock car racing is a team sport, we have witnessed multiple battles between teammates in a quest for personal glory.

In the current driver standings, Hendrick Motorsports drivers Kyle Larson and Chase Elliott occupy the top two spots, with only a ten-point difference between them. Both are vying for the regular season champion title, highlighting the intense competition in stock car racing. This scenario underscores the high standard of NASCAR in the motorsports world.

Here are 5 drivers outshining their teammates in the 2024 NASCAR season

RCR's #8 driver, Kyle Busch, is the most accomplished among the Cup Series drivers this season. Despite facing a challenging season largely beyond his control, Busch has outperformed his teammate Austin Dillon. Busch currently sits in P18 in the driver standings with a 66.7% win rate over Dillon, who is in P32.

Reigning Cup Series champion Ryan Blaney pilots the #12 Ford for Team Penske. Although his season started on the wrong foot, Blaney has recovered his losses and is currently P5 in the driver standings. His Penske teammates Joey Logano and Austin Cindric are currently P15 and P19, respectively, with Blaney securing a 68.2% win rate over them. However, both Cindric and Logano will join Blaney in the playoffs.

Ross Chastain pilots the #1 Chevrolet for the Trackhouse Racing Team, competing full-time in the Cup Series. Chastain and TRT teammate Daniel Suarez have been in close quarters in the driver standings throughout the season. However, the "Martinsville miracle' driver has secured a 68.2% win rate against Suarez and is currently P13 in the standings. Interestingly, Daniel Suarez, who is in P17, won at Atlanta Motor Speedway early into the season, securing his seat in the playoffs.

23XI Racing driver Tyler Reddick has had a phenomenal season thus far. Reddick has clocked consistent top-five finishes and also drove down victory lane at Talladega, earlier this year. Reddick's teammate Bubba Wallace has had his share of troubles this season and is currently in a race for the last playoff spot. Reddick has outperformed Wallace by finishing ahead of the #23 Toyota eight times this season. Reddick is currently P3 in the driver standings with a 68.2% win rate over his teammate Wallace, who is in P14.

Spire Motorsports #77 driver Carson Hocevar is in his rookie season in the Cup Series. Hocevar bypassed the Xfinity series and moved straight to the Cup series. Hocevar has started 22 races this season and has secured 383 points, and two top-ten finishes. Meanwhile, his teammate Corey Lajoie is P28 in the driver standings.

The pair are not too far from each other, but Hocevar has managed to finish ahead of his teammate enough times to secure a 75% win rate. However, both Spire drivers are currently out of the 2024 playoffs.
