Jimmie Johnson has made his mark in the world of NASCAR, but this time he tried his hand at a different sport - golf. He managed to impress while playing on the course as well, recording a hole-in-one at Sunningdale Golf Club.

Johnson is known to be an avid golfer, and often visits the course during his free time to play. He has previously participated in celebrity golf tournaments, such as the Quail Hollow Championship Pro-Am. He has picked up on the game in recent months and showed off his impressive skills at Sunningdale.

He posted his impressive hole-in-one on Instagram, captioning it:

"I’m not joking… seriously"

Jimmie Johnson has played alongside other NASCAR drivers including Dale Jarrett and Denny Hamlin. He has also teed it off alongside Rory McIlroy during Jack Nicklaus' charity event. He said about his experience (via Golf.com):

"I got the chance to embarrass myself in front of Rory. I was playing in a charity tournament that Jack Nicklaus was hosting at The Bear’s Club in Florida. I drew Rory out of a hat for the first nine and Trevino for the back nine. After the first hour, Rory turned to me and suggested that a beer or two might help my swing. That tells you how my day was going."

The NASCAR Champion has been especially working on his putting skills.

What is the Jimmie Johnson Foundation golf tournament? All you need to know

The Jimmie Johnson Foundation was launched by the seven-time NASCAR Champion and his wife Chandra in 2006. The Foundation assists children and families in need of help.

Johnson also organised the Foundation golf tournament to raise money for the Champions Grant program. The program aids students and schools with infrastructure, health and science and technology.

The JJF Golf Tournament celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2022, when it was held at Quail Hollow Golf Club in Charlotte, North Carolina. The charity event raised $950,000.

Speaking about the importance of the event, Johnson said:

“The golf tournament was an incredible success, and I am so thankful for all those who turned out to support the Jimmie Johnson Foundation. A very special thanks to Quail Hollow for allowing us to host the tournament and to my friends The Avett Brothers. They put on an amazing show – it was truly a special evening for all of us.”

The tournament was last held in 2022, once again showcasing Johnson's love for the golf.
