NASCAR fans have reacted to Kyle Busch's sponsor 3CHI's proposal after the officiating body denied its approval. The sponsor is involved in cannabinoid research and the sale of hemp-based products, and Busch's proposed race suit showcased the brand's philosophy.
3CHI landed a deal with Richard Childress Racing in 2022 and has since had a successful campaign. It shared three wins with the two-time Cup Series champion last year. However, due to an uncertain business environment and cost-cutting measures, the sponsor reduced this year's primary backing to only the Championship Race at Phoenix.
During the offseason, 3CHI revealed two of Busch's race suit parts. One is a white helmet with a green patch of hemp leaf on the chin and a black logo on the forehead. The second is a race suit featuring numerous hemp leaves in an all-white suit, with 3CHI branding in black. However, due to an undisclosed reason, NASCAR has rejected it.
Kyle Busch's sponsor wanted the fanbase's opinion and shared the graphics on X (formerly Twitter).
Reactions started pouring in shortly after the sponsor's revelation.
"This is fu**ing goated," a fan wrote.
One fan praised the step despite it resulting in a denial:
"The fact that you actually tried to get this approved is a bold step in the right direction."
"I like the entire design on the front left one and especially the detail on the pant leg," another wrote.
"💀 😭 weed car is real guys," a third fan reacted.
"No wonder it didn’t get approved," one commented.
While 3CHI has yet to make a statement about sponsoring Kyle Busch, sharing the proposal on social media points toward another potential year of racing together.
Kyle Busch opens up on the "toughest" Cup Series season of his career
Considering how Kyle Busch has performed since marking his full-time debut in 2005, the current season has been an abysmal year for the two-time Cup Series champion. Not only did he fail to register a playoff entry, but the RCR driver couldn't salvage a win from 36 race weekends.
It was the #8 Chevy driver's first season since his full-time debut to conclude on a winless note, and the first year since 2012 that Busch failed to make the playoffs.
Having an impressive record of claiming wins every season, the unwanted turnaround this season prompted the Nevada native to acknowledge it as his "toughest" one yet. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), he expressed heartbreak and showed confidence in his "guys" for a fitting comeback next season.
"Arguably the toughest year of my career. Full of trials, n heartbreaks. I know my RCR guys r gonna get after it this winter n we’ll come back stronger nxt season. Grateful for all of our partners, helping us do what we love. Thx Rowdy Nation for sticking w me. Y’all r the best💯," Kyle Busch wrote.
Despite the winless year, Kyle Busch remains NASCAR's winningest active driver with 63 Cup, 102 Xfinity, and 66 Truck Series wins to his name.
