Former Stewart Haas Racing driver Noah Gragson went to Pensacola, Florida, to race in the Snowball Derby 2024 at Five Flag Speedway held on December 8, 2024. Gragson recently posted a clip of him sharing the details of the track with his fans on his X account and talked about taking redemption in the 2024 race.
The Cup Series driver won the Derby once in 2018, and since then he has been close to the finish line several times but hasn't won any race. Even in the 2023 race, he ended the race in 23rd place on the grid behind Hendrick Motorsports driver William Byron.
Despite that, he was still excited and motivated for the 2024 race and said:
"I've been fortunate in my career to win it one time back in 2018, and we're going for a little redemption this year. We were close. Last year, didn't get the win, but we're back. Fun, fun race. The atmosphere here is like no other." [00:12]
Further, Gragson pointed out that the Five Flag Speedway is a difficult track to drive on. He highlighted that going from the front straightway to turn one is "really rough." He added that drivers must be pinned against the inside wall while entering turn one.
"Once that wall ends, you want to have your left sides under the yellow line, and it kind of train tracks the left side tires and keeps you in there. If you don't hit the yellow line, you're going to wash up a couple car widths once you get off the corner," stated Noah Gragson. [00:53]
The former SHR driver ended the race in 19th place in the standings. On the brighter side, he is set to join Front Row Motorsports for the 2025 Cup Series season.
"I assume they will allow me to be myself": Noah Gragson's initial reaction on signing a multi-year deal with FRM
After Stewart Haas Racing announced its departure from the Cup Series, Noah Gragson signed a multi-year deal with FRM ahead of the 2025 season and is set to join the third team for his third full-time season in the Cup Series. The organization announced its expansion and two of its drivers but has yet to name the third driver.
Gragson is excited to join FRM and expressed his feelings that the team would let him "be himself." He debuted in the Cup Series in 2022 while racing part-time for Kaulig Racing and secured a full-time Cup Series seat under Legacy Motorsports driver in 2023. However, after getting suspended, he was released from the team.
After his maiden season was ruined by suspension, he signed a multi-year deal with Stewart-Haas Racing and replaced NASCAR veteran Aric Almirola. Nevertheless, his stable plans were shattered once again after SHR ceased operations after the final race of the 2024 season.
After signing a deal with Front Row Motorsports, NASCAR reporter Claire B asked Noah Gragson about his plans to bring his trademark energy to his new team. The 25-year-old stated:
"I certainly hope so! I haven't spent enough time over at the shop yet, around the guys or anything, been really focused on this year. But I assume they would allow me to be myself. It's just gonna be good for everyone, bringing energy to the race shop, to the group of guys, and bringing a good atmosphere."
According to a report shared by Motorsportswire, Drew Blickensderfer and several members of #10 Stewart Haas Racing will join FRM as Noah Gragson's new team.
