NASCAR star Bubba Wallace remains one of the most popular drivers on the grid. The 30-year-old 23XI Racing superstar is the sole African-American driver in the Cup Series, and has gained millions of followers through the course of his career.
Wallace's NASCAR success has seen him accumulate a giant fortune. The Alabama native has a net worth of $4 million (according to Celebrity Net Worth), courtesy of his NASCAR salary, win bonuses and sponsorship deals.
A notable investment made by Wallace is his charming mansion in Concord, North Carolina.
The mansion was purchased in May 2018 for $575,000. Tucked away among a forest on a secluded 3-acre property, the custom-built, four-bedroom home offers a perfect retreat from the high-octane world of NASCAR for the racer.
The city also holds significant personal history for Bubba Wallace. Born in Mobile, Alabama, he was raised in Concord where his father, Darrell Wallace Sr. owned an industrial cleaning company. His mother, Desiree Wallace is a social worker and former track athlete from the University of Tennessee.
On the NASCAR racetrack, Bubba Wallace is the only African-American driver to have secured multiple victories across the three national series he has competed in. Additionally, his second-place finishes in the Daytona 500 race in 2018 and 2022 has made the Alabama native the best-finishing African-American NASCAR driver in the Great American Race.
Bubba Wallace posts heartening tweet on Juneteenth
Juneteenth is a holiday commemorating the emancipation of enslaved people in the United States. Being one of the few representatives of his community in the motorsports world, Wallace took to X to share a heartfelt message. He wrote:
"Been thinking a lot about the role today plays in this sport and the responsibility I have with my platform. Juneteenth celebrates the freedom of enslaved African Americans in the US."
“Seeing faces at the racetrack from ALL backgrounds is something I’m proud to play a small role in," he added. "As we celebrate today I invite you to step out of your comfort zone, challenge your perspective, and move forward with compassion and understanding. All love✌🏾"
Bubba Wallace is ranked 14th on the NASCAR Cup Series standings after 17 races. He has 414 points courtesy of three top-5 finishes. Wallace is aiming for his second successive Cup Series playoff qualification after he achieved the feat for the first time in his campaign last year.
