“A ridiculously gorgeous racecar”: Fans react as Dale Earnhardt Jr. pulls back the curtain on his #8 challenger for 2025

Fans swooned over JR Motorsports's #8 Chevrolet sponsored by Bass Pro Shops as the team's co-owner Dale Earnhardt Jr. revealed the livery on social media. The car is prepared to run in the zMAX CARS Tour division in April and the announcement was recently made that Dale Jr. will pilot it.

JR Motorsports have spread their work across different racing series including the NASCAR Xfinity Series where they field multiple full-time cars and the CARS Tour. As teams prepare for the 2025 season, Dale Jr. took to social media to reveal their #8's livery which he will be piloting in the race at Cordele Motor Speedway. The car primarily features white but the Bass Pro Shops sponsorship has given it orange accents on the front bumper and above the sideskirts.

"New year, new car. @BassProShops Chevy is headed to Georgia in April. Excited to have the chance to take the @zmaxraceproduc1 @CARSTour to @CordeleSpeedway," Dale Earnhardt Jr. wrote on X.

Fans seemed to love the paint job with contrasting colors around the doors and the rest of the car. Like this comment read:

Dale Earnhardt Jr. on participating in the CARS Tour with JR Motorsports

Dale Earnhardt Jr. raced for the last time in the NASCAR Cup Series in 2017, piloting the #88 Chevy for Hendrick Motorsports. Since his full-time retirement, he has occasionally participated in races across different series like the Xfinity. He went down the track at Bristol Motor Speedway in 2024 and brought his car in seventh position.

He is now prepared to run the CARS Tour at Cordele Motor Speedway in April, piloting the #8, a number that has been significant in his racing career. Previewing the race, he said (via Carsracingtour):

"It’s exciting to have the chance to take the zMAX CARS Tour to Cordele," he said in a release. "Fans in the area have expressed excitement about this race being added to the schedule. Our teams are looking forward to this new challenge. I’m thrilled to add it to the short list of events I’ll be racing in next year."

The 2025 season of the zMAX CARS Tour will commence on March 1 at the New River All American Speedway in North Carolina.
