NASCAR legend Mark Martin once admitted to listening to hip-hop, particularly American rapper Gucci Mane. Martin believed the "I Get the Bag" rapper was unbelievable, saying no one would be as good as him.

Mark Martin is a former NASCAR driver who won 40 races in the Cup Series. He started listening to Gucci Mane, a.k.a. Radric Davis, after one of his son's friends asked if he knew the rapper.

Per Rubbin is Racing on X (formerly Twitter), Martin shared how Gucci Mane became a top artist in his playlist.

"I had one of my son's friends ask me did I listen to Gucci Mane. I didn't know who it was. So as soon as I found him, it was like crazy," Martin said.

The former NASCAR driver then argued the rapper was the best in the game, saying:

"In my opinion, there is no one in the same zip code with Gucci Mane. If I rapped, I would never do a duo with him. Every time he does one with anybody, he just crushes them. I mean, that guy is unbelievable."

He concluded:

"Honestly, it's over. Ain't nobody ever going to be as good as Gucci."

Gucci Mane started rapping in the early 2000s when Mark Martin was with Roush Racing. Martin drove for several other teams including Dale Earnhardt, Inc. (DEI) and Hendrick Motorsports before retiring with Stewart-Haas Racing in 2013.

The 65-year-old scored 96 wins across NASCAR's three major series. He was inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2017 before being recognized as one of the league's 75 greatest drivers of all time last year.

Mark Martin reacts to winning a 'championship' on social media

Mark Martin recently won the "1st Annual Sports Cracker of the Millenium" award given by former NFL star Antonio Brown. The award recognized Martin's sense of humor as evidenced by his unique love for Gucci Mane.

In an X post, Brown wrote:

"1st Annual Sports Crackers of the Millennium @markmartin 🏁 Honor King."

In response, the former NASCAR driver said:

"Finally won a Championship."

Antonio Brown also recognized other famous personalities with unique awards. He awarded sports commentator Kirk Herbstreit's emotional support dog, Ben, with "Dog of the Year", US president-elect Donald Trump with "Cracker of the Year", and himself with "Legend of the Year", among others.

Mark Martin's "finally won a championship" response referred to his championship-less NASCAR career. The former driver competed in the league for three decades but was unable to earn one title.

However, Martin had five seasons where he had a good chance of winning a championship. His closest run was in 1990, finishing 26 points behind Dale Earnhardt Sr, who won his fourth title that year.

The Arkansas native finished second with a career-high of seven wins in 1998 but Jeff Gordon won it all. He also ranked second in 1994, 2002, and 2009.

Overall, Martin had 882 starts in the premier series, with his final win coming at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in 2009.
