AJ Allmendinger named Kaulig Racing driver, Daniel Hemric when asked to name a driver who would win a lottery but be irresponsible enough to lose the ticket. He also took a dig at Hemric's tardy habits.
Representatives of Dirty Mo Media circled around Iowa, asking fans and crew members one question: who would be a NASCAR driver to win a lottery but then go on to lose the ticket? Fans took the names of many drivers, but the funniest take was perhaps from AJ Allmendinger. He stated that it would be a fellow Kaulig Racing driver, Daniel Hemric.
Allmendinger defended himself by adding that he loves Hemric but revealed that the latter is irresponsible enough not to reach anywhere on time, and unless someone carries the ticket for him, he is sure to lose it. He said.
"Definitely Daniel Hemric. I love Daniel Hemric but you know he can't tell time. Like he doesn't, he's late for everything. Unless somebody carries the ticket around for him. But if he has it he definitely loses it. I love you Daniel but you know this is true." (0:26)
After a hard hit on the wall caused by a blown tire, AJ Allmendinger's weekend at the Iowa Speedway came to an abrupt end.
AJ Allmendinger suffers from a hard crash at Iowa
Allmendinger started the Xfinity Series race in 11th place, racing in the #16 Chevrolet. However, his racing action did not last for a very long time. Around lap 35–36 of the first stage, he suffered from a blowout on his right front tire, which sent him into the wall. He was seemingly okay getting out after the crash, but the car took significant damage.
"It just blew out," Allmendinger said. "I was a little bit tight, and actually when I ran the bottom, I was tighter. So I thought down there, I was hurting the tire more. But I didn’t expect to have a right-front issue. It wasn’t like I was overly tight either. Just a part of it."
Jeb Burton, Jesse Love, and Justin Allgaier, all suffered the same issues with their front right tires, which took them out. The new asphalt that was laid on the track could be the reason behind the multiple crashes that occurred at Iowa.
