Allmendinger, a 42-year-old native of Los Gatos, California, has been competing in NASCAR’s premier series since 2007 with big teams like Team Penske, Richard Petty Motorsports, JTG Daugherty Racing (now Hyak Motorsports) and Richard Petty Motorsports.

The American spent his 2024 season driving the No. 16 car full-time in the Xfinity Series. He also drove the machine in select Cup Series races. In 2025, the Chevy star is expected to return to the Cup Series full time where he owns three wins. His most recent victory came at the Charlotte ROVAL in October 2023.

The gala event will be hosted at the South Point Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, the hometown of two-time Cup Series champion, Kyle Busch. Per Newsweek, 2025 will mark the event’s first trip to a venue outside of California.

Besides Allmendinger, dignitaries like Rick Ware, Justin Marks, Chuck Gurney, Davey Hamilton, Jeff Jefferson, and Boris Said will also receive the honor on March 13, right ahead of the Pennzoil 400 (March 16, 3:30 pm ET, FS1, PRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio) at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

AJ Allmendinger's wifeTara shares husband and son Aero’s “Roctober Hallloween” pictures

NASCAR is currently off-season, which means the drivers are taking some time off their busy schedules to recharge for the upcoming season. For AJ Allmendinger, the responsibility is perhaps bigger given Kaulig Racing’s lackluster performance in 2024 with its only full-time driver Daniel Hemric ending up 29th on points with no wins, no top-5s, and only four top-10s.

Therefore, Allmendinger is currently enjoying his time with his family. Recently, he was seen celebrating Halloween wearing a rock-inspired outfit with his son Aero, who was born on September 2023. Reflecting on the sweetest father-son duo posing in front of the camera impersonating death metal artists, Tara posted,

“It was a Rocktober Halloween with Aero Dinger, the lead singer, and his rockstar daddy!”

Little Aero just got out of a major cranial surgery. Thankfully, he is doing okay. Tara shared the thrilling news with her 20,000 followers on Instagram through a video of Aero and a heartfelt writeup.

Allmendinger will hit the track on Sunday, February 2. That day, the season-opening clash at Bowman Gray Stadium will be held from 8 pm ET onwards and will stream live on FOX. Radio updates will be available on MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
