NASCAR driver AJ Allmendinger’s wife Tara uploaded a post on her Instagram with her son Aero as she attended a Christmas Party. Christmas Day is right around the corner and the NASCAR drivers and their families are out to celebrate the holiday.
The Allmendinger family attended the Christmas party organised by AJ's Cup Series and Xfinity team, Kaulig Racing. Tara uploaded four pictures from the party on her Instagram as she held Aero up in her arms. The mother-son duo stood next to Santa at the party as Aero closely observed the father of Christmas.
Allmendinger’s wife Tara explained via her post how her son met Santa Claus for the first time and shared Aero’s thoughts via her caption:
“‘Ummm excuse me sir, what team do you race for?’-Aero probably 🎅🏁🎄@kauligracing Christmas party”
Both Tara Allmendinger and her son dressed up to match the Christmas theme of the party. While Tara was dressed up in a white Christmas sweatshirt with green bottoms, Aero wore a shirt with a Red and Black chequered pattern and layered it with a beige fur jacket.
AJ Allmendinger currently races part-time in the Cup series and is a full-timer in the Xfinity Series. The 43-year-old raced in the IndyCar series during the mid-2000s before making the switch to stock car racing.
The couple first met at the 2014 Indy 500 as Tara attended the event with her sister. 5 years later, the couple tied the knot in December 2019. Last year, in September of 2023, AJ Allmendinger and his wife Tara welcomed their firstborn Aero into their family.
AJ Allmendinger’s wife Tara shares update about son Aero’s 'graduation' from cranial helmet
AJ Allmendinger's son was diagnosed with Sagittal Craniosynostosis when he was three months old. The rare condition caused segments of the skull to fuse prematurely. Hence, Aero had to wear a cranial helmet following surgery for the condition.
On December 3, Tara shared an update on her Instagram as Aero graduated from the cranial helmet. The caption read,
“He did it! It’s official: Aero has graduated from his @docband helmet from Cranial Technologies. We are so grateful for all the care and support we’ve received. Last year, AJ and I were scared, sick, and losing sleep over the thought of our three-month-old undergoing surgery. Aero was born with Sagittal Craniosynostosis and had to undergo an endoscopic strip craniectomy—basically, surgery to remove a fused suture on the top of his skull”
“After surgery, he wore three helmets for several months. The helmets molded his head to shape and allowed for normal brain growth. I can report everything turned out fantastic. God’s timing and plan are truly perfect. 💜”
Allmendinger was one of the inductees for this year’s West Coast Stock Car Motorsports Hall of Fame and Tara took son Aero to see the Motorsports Hall of Fame museum.
