AJ Allmendinger set to run his final full-time NXS race with Kaulig Racing, gets ‘special’ honor from team president Chris Rice

NASCAR driver AJ Allmendinger was recently gifted a personalized helmet for the Xfinity Series Championship Race. He is in his final full-time season in the series as he will drive for Kauling Racing in the Cup Series from 2025.

Allmendinger drives the #16 Chevrolet Camaro full-time for Kaulig Racing in the Xfinity Series. With 17 years in NASCAR, "the Dinger" has accumulated 21 wins across the Xfinity and Cup Series. His most recent victory came in the Ambetter Health 302 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Ahead of the Championship Race, the President of Kaulig Racing, Chris Rice, presented Aj Allmendinger with a specially designed race helmet that contained pictures of all his Xfinity wins for his team.

Jayski's Dustin Albino shared a post on X(formerly Twitter), updating fans about the heartwarming gesture.

"Chris Rice presented AJ Allmendinger with a special helmet for this weekend. Included are photos from every win Allmendinger has scored for Kaulig Racing in the Xfinity Series. Rice said he knows this will be Allmendinger's final full-time Xfinity race with Kaulig." the post was captioned

AJ Allmendinger will be replaced by Truck Series driver Christian Eckes in the Kaulig Racing Chevy in the Xfinity Series. The Dinger, however, will compete in the Cup Series #16 team and is the only driver confirmed for Ksulig Racing's 2025 Cup lineup so far, with Daniel Hemric yet to confirm his future.


AJ Allmendinger expressed desire to win the championship following his win at Las Vegas

Ahead of the Xfinity Series Championship Race at Phoenix Raceway, AJ Allmendinger expressed confidence in winning the title. The 42-year-old also highlighted his strong relationship with the #16 Chevy team.

The 42-year-old's victory at Las Vegas Motor Speedway earned him a spot in the final four. Moreover, Allmendinger has consistently performed throughout the season by securing 17 top-ten and 7 top-five finishes in 32 race starts.

In a post-race interview at Las Vegas, Allmendinger said (via TSN on X)

"I absolutely love these guys and girls at Kaulig Racing. Been such up and down. But what I love about them is we stick together. We keep fighting," AJ Allmendinger said (0:17 onwards).
"Oh man, it’s a modern-day garage Chevy—was absolutely hooked up, as fast as Xfinity internet. Thank you guys for all you do for this sport. Celsius, Action Industries, Leaf Filter… I don’t know there’s a lot more, I’m forgetting. God, what a way to get the Phoenix after the year that we've had. Let's go win a championship. Let's go," he added.
