Alex Bowman clinched the top podium step in the NASCAR Grant Park 165 race in downtown Chicago. The Arizona-based driver celebrated his victory throughout the night with his girlfriend Chloe Henderson, family, and close friends.

Replacing the Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr. in 2017, Bowman has become a mainstay in Hendrick Motorsports. Driving the #88 (before) and #48 (now) Chevrolet, he has won 9 races and has 39 top 5s and 92 top 10 finishes so far in Cup and Xfinity Series combined. However, Bowman struggled to win in the last two seasons.

Now, after an 80-race winless streak, Bowman has finally stepped back on the top podium spot at the Chicago Street Course. Overjoyed by the win, the Hendrick Motorsports racer celebrated unit sunrise.

Here's a look at the Alex Bowman's post on Instagram, captioned:

"Chicago wins be like 6:46am."

Apart from Bowman, his girlfriend Chloe also shared two stories on her Instagram page.

The highlight of the day for Bowman would likely be a phone call from HMS team owner Rick Hendrick, congratulating the #48 driver on his victory in downtown Chicago.

A brief look at Alex Bowman's 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season so far with Hendrick Motorsports

After a disappointing 2023 season, Alex Bowman began the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season on a high note. The Arizona-based driver managed to finish the first three races in the top 10s (sixth in Busch Light Clash) and top 5s (third in Duel 1 at DAYTONA and second in Daytona International Speedway).

However, after Daytona, Bowman saw a dip in performance at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and Phoenix Raceway where he finished 27th, 18th, and 20th, respectively. After looking at the data gathered from the three race weekends, HMS and Bowman were able to iron out several issues.

This allowed the #48 driver to showcase consistent results throughout the season. The only exceptions in the season were the two DNFs at Texas Motor Speedway (37th position) and New Hampshire Motor Speedway (36th position).

However, the highlight of the season for Bowman came at the recently concluded race at the Chicago Street Course. Starting in 8th position, he slowly made his way to the top spot, thereby ending his winless streak of two years.

As of now, Alex Bowman is currently standing in 11th position in the driver's championship. He has amassed 553 points (118 points behind the leader Kyle Larson), with one win, 11 top 10s, and five top 5 finishes this season. Apart from this, Bowman has also confirmed his place in the NASCAR Playoffs this year.
