Alex Bowman Racing unveiled their four midget cars ahead of the 2025 Chili Bowl Nationals as the Tulsa Shootout came to an end. The team is set to continue with their old drivers, with a newcomer, sponsored by Ally.
Bowman, who pilots the #48 Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports in the NASCAR Cup Series, is also a team owner. His team, Alex Bowman Racing, primarily participates in dirt racing events with midget cars, with Chili Bowl Nationals being a major example. He recently revealed the four cars that will race in the 2025 edition of the "Super Bowl of midget racing."
"ChiliBowlX," he captioned the social media post.
Bowman will only participate in the race as a team owner. The cars will be piloted by Jake Swanson, C.J. Leary, Kevin Thomas Jr, and Briggs Danner, who is joining the team for the first time. However, he carries ample experience, having spent close to two decades in racing.
The Chili Bowl Nationals is held almost immediately after the Tulsa Shootout in the same region but with a different class of cars. Midget cars are smaller with less power and have the capacity to run on quarter-mile tracks.
The event will be held at the Tulsa Expo Raceway beginning from January 12th till the 18th.
Alex Bowman on his preparations ahead of the 2025 Chili Bowl Nationals
About a month before the Chili Bowl Nationals, Alex Bowman discussed his preparations ahead of entering the tournament as a team owner. He mentioned that they were preparing to field a fourth entry in the event.
Discussing this with Frontstretch, he further mentioned that two of their cars required a lot of work, also expressing his passion for building these cars with the team.
"Jake's car is the same car so it's been done since the summer. CJ's car is a new car but we built it last season so it's been pretty done. The other two have been a lot of work," he said. [at 0:15]
"So, I'm in a good spot typically. I'm thrashing like on Christmas day still this year. I mean I should be done with them this weekend, barring any issues. Feel like you always run into something building new cars, but yeah, I love that stuff, I love spending time in my shop and I'm way further ahead than I normally am."
As for Alex Bowman, he is prepared to enter the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season with Hendrick Motorsports. This is set to be his eighth full-time season with them.
