Alexa Reddick revealed that Tyler Reddick is planning to name their second child "Fireball" if it's a boy. The couple recently announced their second pregnancy.
Their first child, a boy, was born back in January 2020, over four years before their wedding in July 2024. In a Q&A session with her 10k followers, one of the users asked Alexa Reddick what she was planning to name their second kid. She mentioned that Tyler Reddick was planning to go with "Fireball."
"Tyler likes Fireball for a boy🤣"
Along with the story, she shared a picture of Edward Glenn Roberts Jr, who was given the nickname of "Fireball." He was one of the first NASCAR drivers and one of the finest of his time. He raced between 1950 and 1964, winning 33 out of the 206 races he participated in.
Tyler Reddick and Alexa decided their first child's name over a bet
As mentioned, the couple's first child was born back in January 2020. He was named Beau, as his father wanted. But that did not come easily for him.
When Alexa was pregnant and they knew it was going to be a boy, the couple had a disagreement about the baby's name. Tyler Reddick kept calling him Beau, but Alexa was stuck on Ryker. She recalled once that her husband remained stuck with it.
"I thought it was cute, but that was not my first choice," Alexa said. "I was pretty stuck on Ryker at that point and he was not hopping on that train. If you know Tyler, once he gets his mind on something, it’s stuck."
It was around this time that she challenged Reddick. He was racing in the Xfinity Series at the time with Richard Childress Racing, having won the championship last year with JR Motorsports.
She told Reddick that if he won the championship once again that season, he could name their baby whatever he wanted. Reddick was extremely competitive that season, and he kept the momentum up and won the race, amassing six victories in the entire season.
"I don’t know what came over me," she said. "I guess pregnancy-brain is a real thing, and one day I was like, ‘Listen, you win this championship, you can name him whatever you want, but I don’t want you calling him anything until you are in victory lane holding up that championship trophy in Miami."
"I shook on it and here we are and now the baby’s name is going to Beau."
Tyler Reddick then moved to the Cup Series with RCR and raced with them for three seasons. 23XI Racing signed him in 2023 and has been with the team since. The 28-year-old produced some impressive performances in the 2024 Cup Series, as he won the Regular Championship. He eventually ended fourth after the playoffs, winning three races throughout the season.
