“It was perfect!” Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s short track experience at Langley Speedway

Dale Earnhardt Jr. went to a Late Model event at Langley Speedway that sparked memories from the initial days of his racing career. Junior revealed that after the race he spent the whole night drinking beer and stayed up all night.

The former NASCAR Cup Series driver debuted at the Hampton Heat 200 Late Model race at Langley. Speedway. Despite not being a regular driver, Dale Earnhardt Jr. finished the race in fifth place in the #3 car on the short track.

In a recent episode of Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s "The Dale Jr. Download" podcast, he reminisced about the wild-night racing experience at Langley. He explained:

"So we sat there and we drank some beers till 5 o'clock in the morning, local shows, local series. They're racing, and they finish their races. Here come the trucks and trailers back in. I loved it because it was super late. It was like 5 o'clock in the morning, and everybody's loading their trailers up, saying bye. I walked out there, jumped in the fifth wheel, slept for about two and a half hours, got up, pulled it out at 8:30 or 9 o'clock, and drove all the way home."
“Sometimes, when you want to do something and you want to go back and relive something, it's never as good or never like you thought, or it's like you build it up in your head. This matched my vision of going back and racing. It was perfect! I wouldn't change a thing,” said Junior.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. found his experience at Langley Speedway extraordinary and left him satisfied.
