The 2025 edition of the Chili Bowl Nationals presented by NOS Energy Drink is just around the corner. Known as the “Super Bowl” of midget racing, the Chili Bowl Nationals began in 1987, several drivers have become champions, including NASCAR drivers Kyle Larson and Christopher Bell.
This year marks the 39th running of the event and has been an annual event since then that welcomes dirt racing to the New Year. The 2025 Chili Bowl Nationals will begin on January 12 with practice and conclude with the main event on January 18.
The event attracts hundreds of competitors from across the United States and the world to compete on a 1⁄5-mile dirt oval track at the Tulsa Expo Raceway in Tulsa, Oklahoma, United States, a temporary circuit constructed inside the SageNet Center at Tulsa’s Expo Square.
Late driver Rich Vogler won the inaugural Chili Bowl Nationals. NASCAR drivers who won the biggest midget race of the year are NASCAR legend Tony Stewart and current NASCAR superstars Kyle Larson and Christopher Bell.
Drivers with multiple Chili Bowl Midget Nationals victories are five-time winner Sammy Swindell, his son Kevin Swindell won four times, followed by Christopher Bell with three, and Dan Boorse, Tony Stewart, Cory Kruseman, Rico Abreu, Kyle Larson and Logan Seavey each have won two times.
