NASCAR Xfinity Series team AM Racing took to social media on Monday to share a humorous photo of their new driver, Harrison Burton. The post was made to relate to what it's like on the first day back to work after the holiday break.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), AM Racing shared a photo of their driver looking overwhelmed. The caption humorously correlated it to someone who had many emails to catch up on after the holiday break. They wrote:
"When it’s the first day back in the office and you have to respond to all of those emails from the holiday season"
Burton was out of a ride for the 2025 season after being replaced by Josh Berry in the #21 Wood Brothers Racing Cup Series team. However, it was announced last September that the North Carolina native would join AM Racing in 2025. The team took to social media to break the news, writing:
"Drumroll Please 🥁 @harrisonburton12 will join the AM Racing family in 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣5️⃣ full-time in the @nascar @xfinityracing Series!"
Burton finished his third and final season with Wood Brothers Racing in 2024 but managed to go out in style. The son of former Cup Series driver and current NBC NASCAR broadcaster Jeff Burton scored his first career victory in the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona, qualifying for the playoffs.
In an Instagram post, Burton admitted his final race with the Wood Brothers was emotional, but he was honored to have driven for the iconic team. He added:
"@woodbrothers21 family this has been a ride… proud to have driven the 21! Proud to be the group to win 100! Emotional day, I will be back!"
The Coke Zero Sugar 400 win was special in a lot of ways for Burton and he conveyed the same through a post on Instagram.
Harrison Burton reflected on "special" Daytona win in social media post
Harrison Burton passed Kyle Busch on the final lap of the 2024 Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona to score his first career NASCAR Cup Series win. The victory was also the 100th career win for Wood Brothers Racing.
Days after the historic win, Burton took to Instagram to reflect on what he accomplished. He wrote:
"Special team. Special night. Special win. Snagged #100 for the @woodbrothers21 in @daytona ."
Burton moved up to the Cup Series full-time in 2022 to pilot the #21 Wood Brothers machine. However, aside from the Daytona win, success was few and far between as Burton only registered six top 10s across the three seasons. The 24-year-old finished 16th in the points standings in 2024.
Burton heads back down to the Xfinity Series in 2025 to pilot the #15 AM Racing Ford. He previously won four Xfinity Series races in 2020 when he was behind the wheel of the #20 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota.
