Former NASCAR and Indy Car driver Danica Patrick made headlines by backing Republican candidate Donald Trump for President throughout the 2024 elections. However, despite Trump's victory over Kamala Harris, the Wisconsin native said that her job is not done yet.
Patrick spent her days before the election campaigning for Trump in rallies. Just two days before the election, she was seen speaking with the audience at a rally in Lititz, Pennsylvania, where she made a case for Trump’s presidential bid, naming it the battle between good and evil.
"We’re not living in a time of Republican-Democrat, we’re living in good versus evil, we're living in right versus wrong," she said.
The 42-year-old NASCAR trailblazer jumped onto the MAGA train with her recent post on X (formerly known as Twitter) which read,
“My work will not be done until I can say I love this country and have EVERYONE agree that this makes us American, not Republican.”
Patrick is one of the most well-known women in NASCAR and the history of American open-wheel car racing. To this day, she remains the only woman to have won an IndyCar Series race (2008). Her array of accolades includes multiple firsts for women in NASCAR.
She was the first woman to win a pole in a regular season event, and the only woman to finish eighth in the crown jewel Daytona 500. She holds the record for most starts (191), most laps led (64) as well as most top-10s (7) by a woman in NASCAR.
Patrick was voted the Most Popular Driver in the IndyCar Series six years in a row from 2005 to 2010. With 960K followers on Instagram alone, she identifies as an entrepreneur and overlooks the operation of her wine brands, Somnium and Danica Rose Wine. She also hosts a weekly podcast named "Pretty Intense".
Danica Patrick celebrates Donald Trump’s win despite missing out on a Mar-a-Lago invite
Danica Patrick was not invited to Donald Trump’s victory celebration at his Mar-a-Lago compound in Palm Beach, Florida. As per the NY Post, the invitees included UFC President Dana White and Elon Musk, the owner of Tesla Inc.
Just past midnight on Wednesday, when Trump’s victory was due to be announced, she posted a selfie in her Instagram stories with photographer Denise Bovee and writer Jessica Reed Kraus. All three of them were seated in a hallway.
Patrick captioned the story,
“Where was our Mar-a-Lago invite? Seriously.”
Nevertheless, Patrick was elated at Trump’s victory. She posted a photo of herself in an all-red outfit, standing in front of the American flag on Wednesday morning, and captioned it,
“We did it!”
As per CBS News, Trump emerged victorious in the states of North Carolina, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan by 21 votes over the electoral threshold of 270. Votes in Nevada and Arizona were still being counted at the time of the report.
