NASCAR Xfinity Series' new broadcasting network, CW, is reportedly considering remote broadcasting from NASCAR Studios in North Carolina. The network owned by Nexstar Media Group will also broadcast all the Xfinity playoff races this season.

Renowned journalist Adam Stern of the Sports Business Journal recently reported that CW and NASCAR are in talks to finalize the number of races they would call from the $53 million production studio in North Carolina. Such remote broadcasting, considered a cost-cutting measure, has frequently occurred since the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic and is largely criticized by the NASCAR community.

NASCAR fans online voiced their thoughts on the reported change in the NASCAR broadcast booth for the 2025 season. One user on X (formerly Twitter) talked about the authenticity of calling races when called from a broadcasting booth far away. They wrote:

"That would be a complete and utter disaster! Being at the track live often makes the broadcasts more natural and fluent."

Similarly, a second user bashed the quality of broadcasts of the networks signed by NASCAR.

"Just another awful company NASCAR has signed with who doesn’t give a crap about the quality of broadcasts. This organization does nothing right"

Another NASCAR fan deemed calling races remotely the "worst" idea and questioned the decision.

"Out of every sport to call remote, this would be the worst. What kind of decision is this?" the fan wrote.

While a user criticized Fox's broadcasting quality:

"Clearly they aren't paying attention to how much we shit on Fox for doing the same shitty half-a**ed job," they commented.

Here are a few more reactions from the NASCAR community:

"All I want from the broadcasters is act like I’m a buddy at the track with them . This will make it so clunky and not fluid.. like a salesman talking to me.. dumb," a fan wrote.
"This is why it was bad when they picked up the rights," a fan added.

"We have incredible media partners": NASCAR Senior VP on CW Network being a broadcasting home

Following the announcement of the CW Network's head start in broadcasting the NASCAR Xfinity Series playoffs, three senior executives from NASCAR, NBC, and CW shared their thoughts on the free and over-the-air television broadcast.

Dennis Miller, President of The CW Network, said in a statement (via NASCAR):

"We want to thank our partners at the league and at NBC Sports for welcoming the network into the NASCAR broadcast family and for the early opportunity to showcase these thrilling final eight Xfinity Series races of the season. We can’t wait to give racing fans an early preview of all the exciting action the NASCAR Xfinity Series has to offer on The CW and we look forward to establishing the network as a new destination for live motorsports."

Brian Herbst, NASCAR VP of Media and Productions, said:

"We have incredible media partners who collaborate at an exceptional level to showcase the excitement of live NASCAR racing."

The President of NBC Sports, Rick Cordella, commented on the new partnership with CW and NASCAR:

"We have a great partnership with NASCAR and welcome The CW to the family of NASCAR broadcasters. This sneak peek of NASCAR Xfinity Series races will continue to feature NBC Sports’ critically acclaimed NASCAR production while assisting in the transition for fans to watch the Xfinity Series on The CW full-time in 2025."

Meanwhile, the NASCAR Xfinity Series will return to Charlotte for the road course event at the ROVAL on October 12.
