Anthony Alfredo will attempt to qualify for the Daytona 500 with Beard Motorsports. He will be driving the #62 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for the team.

Alfredo, also known as the "Fast Pasta," is an up-and-coming driver in NASCAR. He was born on March 31, 1999, in Ridgefield, Connecticut. The driver has showcased his versatility while driving in the top three NASCAR Series, Cup Series, Xfinity Series, and NASCAR Truck Series. The 25-year-old also races part-time schedules with smaller competitive teams like Our Motorsports.

Beard Motorsports was formed in 2009 by Mark Beard (a former NASCAR driver) which had its first race in the NASCAR Cup Series at the Daytona 500 in 2017. They made a name for themselves as a part-time team where they focused solely on high-profile restrictor-plate races like the Daytona 500 and Talladega. They have no race victories in the competition and none of their drivers have a Driver's Championship to boast. NASCAR enthusiasts often view them as an underdog team.

The North Carolina-based team announced on January 9th that they will be fielding Anthony Alfredo in their #62 Chevrolet at the Daytona 500 and will attempt to qualify for the race. Beard Motorsports announced in a press release:

“We are thrilled to have Anthony Alfredo back behind the wheel of the No. 62 Chevrolet and are very honored to continue the relationship we have started with Fortify Building Solutions. To have that brand continue its support of Beard Motorsports means a lot.”

In the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series, the Connecticut native finished 27th at the Daytona 500 and had a career-best finish (6th) at Talladega.

At the Phoenix Raceway in the final Xfinity race of the season, Alfredo was parked for 2 laps by NASCAR officials for reckless driving after he hooked Stefan Parsons on the right rear end. The 25-year-old was fined $25,000 and docked 25 driver points. The team and the driver would be hoping for a more fruitful year in the upcoming season.
