Kelley Earnhardt Miller, the CEO and co-owner of JR Motorsports, posted a quote about the different qualities of a partner on Instagram on Friday, September 6.
Miller, who is worth $50 million (according to Celebrity Net Worth), is a successful businesswoman in NASCAR and serves on several boards. Kelley helped lead the NASCAR collectibles industry as VP of sales at Action Performance during the mid-1900s and is also the author of "Drive: 9 Lessons To Win In Business and In Life."
Kelly is also the daughter of seven-time NASCAR champion Dale Earnhardt and sister of Earnhardt Jr. In her latest Instagram story, she shared a quote that differentiated between bad, good and the best partners one could have.
"Bad partners pursue their interests at your expense. They'll hurt you if it helps them. Good partners value your interests as much as theirs. They strive for win-win. Great partners internalize your interests as theirs. They take pride in your success and joy in your happiness," quote by Adam Grant.
Kelley is a Business Administration graduate from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She's married to former racer L.W. Miller and has three children – Karsyn, Kennedy and Wyatt.
"We just want to control our business" - Kelley Earnhardt on working long hours
Kelley Earnhardt talked about her work routine in an episode of "Kenny Conversations," hosted by former NASCAR driver, Kenny Wallace.
Kelley co-owns JR Motorsports with her brother and Rick Hendrick. Since she joined JRM in 2001 as general manager, the company has won seven championships and three NASCAR Xfinity Series titles in five seasons. Drivers like Chase Elliott, William Byron, Tyler Reddick and Josh Berry have contributed to wins.
Kelley explained that she values being involved in her business every day, except when she is traveling with her son Wyatt. She also added that she wants to be present for her employees.
"My day starts at 6:00 AM, my first cup of coffee. I'm in this office at 8:30, I leave this office at 5:00 PM, except when I'm traveling with Wyatt. That's the kind of people we are.
"We just want to control our business, we want to influence our business. I want to be here for my people. I want my people to know me, they know who they work for. That's just how we operate," Kelley Earnhardt said.
Kelley Earnhardt's switch to JR Motorsports also helped her brother's career. After winning Xfinity Series titles in 1998 and 1999, he became a big name in NASCAR in 2000. Kelley brought a new approach to business in the 2000s and helped the company by getting new deals.
