Katelyn Larson, wife of 2021 NASCAR Cup Series champion, Kyle Larson, took to social media to make a funny comment about the events that transpired at the Tulsa Shootout on Saturday Night. Taking to her X (formerly Twitter) account during the race, Katelyn responded to a tweet posting about the Chili Bowl happening at the Tulsa Expo Raceway.
Kyle and Katelyn Larson have been married since 2018. They have three children, their firstborn Owen, who they had in 2014, Audrey Layne, born in 2018, and their third child, son Cooper Donald, who was born in 2022.
On January 5, the mom-of-three replied to the update from Brian Walker, who runs Walkapedia, live-tweeting the Non-Wing Outlaw Main Event of the Tulsa Shootout where Kyle Larson and Christopher Bell were battling it out for the prized Golden Driller Trophy.
Poking fun at the fact that her husband and Bell are national-level racecar drivers beating other non-NASCAR competitors, Katelyn wrote:
"Just a couple of nascar guys beating up on a kid event lol"
Just before Katelyn Larson's dig, X account Walkapedia shared an update, informing about the end of the race:
"𝗕𝗘𝗟𝗟 𝗕𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗦 𝗟𝗔𝗥𝗦𝗢𝗡 𝗜𝗡 𝗔 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢 𝗙𝗜𝗡𝗜𝗦𝗛!! An all timer at the @TulsaShootout goes to @CBellRacing over @KyleLarsonRacin! The Expo is going NUTS!"
Joe Gibbs Racing's Christopher Bell beat Hendrick Motorsport's Kyle Larson after the two had a battle for the lead after Lap 45 of 55 in the race when competitor Steven Snyder went into the wall.
Larson started his race in 14th place, and climbed up to the runner-up spot, missing out on victory in a photo-finish between the two Cup drivers. Kyle Larson did not go home empty-handed. He won two Golden Drillers the same night thanks to his victories in the Winged Outlaw and Winged A-Class main event races, taking his tally of Golden Drillers to five.
Bell and Larson finished the 2024 Cup Series season in 5th and 6th place in the standings, respectively, with the gap between the two being 34 points.
Katelyn Larson re-posts images of son's car for debut Tulsa Shootout season
The couple's first son, Owen, who turned 10 years old last year, made his debut in the junior division of the Tulsa Shootout this past weekend. Katelyn Larson, took to her social media to repost the images of her son's vehicle for the Tulsa Shootout weekend, shared initially by team CB Industries on their X account:
While Kyle Larson took home a couple of Golden Drillers, his son Owen was unable to achieve the same feat, losing to driver Kyle Busch's son, Brexton Busch. Brexton emerged victorious in the Junior Sprints event, the young Larson finished his race in 6th place.
