Bubba Wallace's long-time spotter Freddie Kraft urged his followers to participate in the 2025 Chili Bowl Pool to make the race "a little more interesting." The 2025 Chili Bowl Nationals is scheduled for the upcoming week.
This tournament is usually scheduled for mid-January after the Tulsa Shootout. While both events take place at the same venue and on the same track, there is a major class difference in both. The Tulsa Shootout features more powerful sprint cars, while midget cars compete in the Chili Bowl Nationals. The race is exciting in itself because of its fast-paced action and close racing, however, Bubba Wallace's spotter Freddie Kraft has other ideas to make it more interesting.
He reshared a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account, giving his followers the idea to participate in the Chili Bowl Pool. It is an unofficial, fantasy-styled game where participants choose their drivers and then those drivers are awarded points based on how they perform during the Chili Bowl Nationals weekend.
Kraft claimed that there are "big prizes" and it makes the races "more interesting."
"If you’re into the Chili Bowl and want and reason to make every race a little more interesting check out Corey’s pool. Hundreds of entries, big prizes, makes it a little more fun to watch. Unless your picks suck," he wrote on X.
The 2025 Chili Bowl Nationals is scheduled to start on 12th Jan. and will continue for the next week.
Freddie Kraft on Bubba Wallace "stealing" his words on social media
Ahead of the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season, Bubba Wallace shared a few words of self-motivation. However, this was quickly met with retaliation from his spotter, Freddie Kraft, who claimed that Wallace "stole" his words.
Wallace wrote:
"2025 is gonna be a grind. Time to roll up the sleeves, grab a glove and get in the game! Let’s go to work!"
Replying to this, Kraft mentioned:
"Wait a min… This MFer stole my line? 🤬"
This iconic duo has worked together for a long time now, marking a partnership close to one and a half decades. Bubba Wallace currently drives the #23 Toyota for 23XI Racing, a team co-owned by JGR driver Denny Hamlin and NBA Legend Michael Jordan.
The team fields two charters, the other one driven by Tyler Reddick. They will now expand to a third car as well. After Stewart-Haas Racing closed operations at the end of the 2025 season, three of their charters were available for purchase. Front Row Motorsports and 23XI Racing, both of whom are in a legal conflict with NASCAR, bought one each.
Despite the nature of the conflict (an anti-trust lawsuit after the 2025 Charter Agreement), the teams were given their primary injunction by the US District Court, allowing them to race as Chartered teams in the upcoming season.
Riley Herbst is set to partner Wallace and Reddick in the 2025 season in the team.
