Richard Childress Racing has solidified its partnership with Austin Dillon and the #3 Chevy team's longtime sponsor, Dow. The announcement follows Dillon's controversial victory at Richmond Raceway, which led to NASCAR's decision to drop him from the playoffs.

Richard Childress Racing and Austin Dillon have extended their partnership with longtime sponsor Dow through the 2025 season. The announcement was made during a press conference at Michigan International Speedway, ahead of the FireKeepers Casino 400.

Dow, a Michigan-based material sciences company that offers a wide range of services, has sponsored Dillon throughout his entire Cup career. The company was featured on the hood of the #3 RCR Chevy during several crucial moments, including Dillon’s pole position in the Daytona 500 in his rookie season in 2014, his maiden Cup victory in the 2017 Coca-Cola 600, and his 2018 Daytona 500 victory.

Dillon reflected on his decade-long relationship with Dow and described the partnership as the most "personal and authentic" of his career. The 34-year-old elaborated on the strong bond he has formed with Dow employees and highlighted the company’s various community initiatives.

"Dow’s relationship has been one of the most personal and authentic relationships of my motorsports career. I’ve really enjoyed meeting Dow employees globally, some of which have become close friends. We’ve seen first-hand the power of the partnership with programs such as the Dow Salutes Veterans program growing each year, and customers from a variety of businesses finding value in their relationship with Dow through their at-track experience," he said in a press release.

Dow's partnership with Richard Childress Racing led to the formation of Dow MobilityScience, a dedicated division focused on automotive products. The company develops high-performance components and materials that are custom-built for the #3 RCR Chevy.

"Dow has supported me since day 1 in the NASCAR Cup Series, and it means a lot to know that Dow scientists are working behind the scenes to extract every ounce of speed we can from our Chevys. I’m proud to be associated with one of the world’s foremost materials science companies and will do my best to represent Dow both on and off track," Dillon added.

Austin Dillon optimistic about the appeal result after the NASCAR penalty

After Austin Dillon was penalized by NASCAR, Richard Childress Racing announced its decision to appeal the penalty. Dillon remains optimistic about the outcome of the appeal process, suggesting the team will present a strong case to overturn the penalties.

Here's what Dillon told Bob Pockrass while speaking to the media at Michigan International Speedway:

"I feel pretty good about it... the appeal process isn't easy, but we'll do a good job on our side to try and cover all of our basis and see what the outcome really is," he added.

The appeal will be heard by the National Motorsports Appeals Panel on Wednesday, August 21. The #3 Chevy driver currently occupies 31st place in the driver's standings.
