Stewart-Haas Racing driver Ryan Preece is the odd man out without a confirmed ride for the 2025 season. A reporter for Fox Sports recently provided an update on the uncertain future of the #41 Ford driver.

Preece is in his second full-time season with the Tony Stewart-led outfit in the Cup Series. With SHR's announcement of its closure after the 2024 season, all four of its Cup drivers were on the lookout to find a new home for the upcoming season. Out of the four, only the 33-year-old Preece's future is in limbo.

According to the renowned journalist, Bob Pockrass, it is still "TBD" for Preece on his uncertain future in landing a new team and a chance to stay in the Cup Series.

"Still TBD for Preece and still in flux on where (team and series) he will end up -- he has some funding/sponsors." Pockrass wrote.

Meanwhile, SHR's Noah Gragson recently announced his new Cup ride with Front Row Motorsports and is likely to pilot the new third car for FRM. Chase Briscoe, also confirmed his #19 Toyota ride for Joe Gibbs Racing replacing Martin Truex Jr and Cup Series rookie Josh Berry became the third driver to ink his deal with the historic Wood Brothers Racing.

Meanwhile, Preece's 2025 NASCAR campaign remains uncertain as drivers get closer to this year's NASCAR playoffs.

Possible landing spots for Ryan Preece in the 2025 season

Before competing in NASCAR's top-tier division, Ryan Preece secured a total of four wins in Xfinity and Truck Series. However, in his 170 starts in the Cup Series, the #41 Preece has only 13 top-tens. His P23 final driver's standings were his best in last season's Cup campaign.

According to Bob Pockrass' 2025 lineup projection report, Preece could continue his partnership with Ford with Rick Ware Racing. RWR fields multiple drivers for the #15 Ford. Preece might become a probable candidate for Rick Ware's outfit if he can secure a full-season sponsorship.

Moreover, Kaulig Racing is another organization that is heavily anchored on the drivers that can secure a sponsorship. Matt Kaulig's outfit also fields multiple drivers such as AJ Allmendinger, Shan van Gisbergen, Ty Dillon, and Derek Kraus.

With NASCAR heading towards the 21st race of the season at Pocono Raceway, the #41 Preece sits at P26 in the overall standings and has one top-five and two top-ten finishes.
