Bob Pockrass shared an insight into potential changes in the 2025 Cup Series in NASCAR on Sunday. Pockrass, from his official X account, revealed that no major changes are expected for next season, including bigger tracks like Daytona.

The Fox Sports journalist recently touched upon the aero and tire changes for the next season. He answered a fan's question on the micro-blogging site who asked about anticipated aero packages for 2025, including softer tires for Daytona.

Replying to the question, Pockrass wrote:

"No major aero changes expected. I haven’t seen a tire chart but would think main tire changes being looked at would be for short tracks with the success of the softer Martinsville tire."

Pockrass' revelation has arrived amid NASCAR's latest change on charter ownership. Heading into 2025, NASCAR introduced a new charter agreement which will run till 2031. According to the new norm, a team cannot own more than three charters.

However, there's a catch. Only Joe Gibbs Racing and Hendrick Motorsports will continue to operate with four cars, as per Bob Pockrass. The latest agreement talks have emerged amid NASCAR's ongoing tussles with Front Row Motorsports and 23XI Racing regarding the charter disagreements between the two parties.

Former racing driver and team owner Tony Stewart recently slammed NASCAR over the charter agreement. In a recent interview, the former Cup Series star, whose Stewart-Haas Racing went defunct at the end of the 2024 Cup Series season, said that the charter agreements are a "joke".

"The charter agreements are a joke," Stewart added. "When someone like Rick Hendrick says, ‘I just got tired of arguing with them.’ Do you think Rick Hendrick runs his business and in negotiations just says, ‘Ah, I’m just going to sign this agreement because I’m tired of arguing with you.’"
"Rick Hendrick’s never done that a day in his life. So, if people aren’t smart enough to read between the lines and figure out what that means, then you’re all missing the whole big picture. It’s just an area that I don’t want to be a part of anymore. I’m an old school guy when it comes to racing.” [via Racing News]

Rick Hendrick is the co-owner of Hendrick Motorsports, the most successful NASCAR Cup Series team. They operate four charters, #5 of Kyle Larson, #9 of Chase Elliott, #24 of William Byron, and #48 of Alex Bowman.

NASCAR and Cup Series teams made it to the headlines multiple times this year, all regarding the new charter agreement. 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports filed an anti-trust lawsuit against NASCAR, and the governing body fought back legally.
