In a surprising development, long-time sponsor Kroger parted ways with Ricky Stenhouse Jr.'s #47 team at Hyak Motorsports (formerly JTG Daugherty Racing). The retail giant has joined Brad Keselowski's RFK Racing and will sponsor all three of their entries.
Ryan Preece, whose career in NASCAR was clouded with doubt as SHR exited the sport secured a place in the 2025 Cup Series with Brad Keselowski's team. Following the announcement, Preece reflected on his move to RFK, where he said (via X):
"Being able to lean on Brad (Keselowski), the knowledge that he has, as well as what he's been able to do as a leader for RFK, is very impressive. It started with a phone call actually. I remember walking into SHR's building and I saw Brad was calling. The Cup Series is scheduled to run the pre-season Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium on 2nd February 2025, at 8:00 PM ET. The Winston-Salem-based facility will host a Cup Series event after over five decades, giving birth to excitement among fans and drivers alike.
