This year, Brad Keselowski rounded off his fourth season as a driver-owner of RFK Racing. He snapped a 110-race winless streak and qualified for the playoffs for the second time in a row. However, there was a lot that the No. 6 team had hoped to accomplish through the season which kicked off at Daytona in February 2024.

Keselowski did win a race at Darlington in May, but there’s no denying that the Mooresville resident came close to winning on multiple occasions. He made the top-3 not once, not twice, but six times. Four of those were runner-up finishes with the most recent one coming at Talladega last October.

Keselowski recalled his goals for 2024 through a recent video on his YouTube channel, and said,

“Looking back on 2024, (it) was a season of highs and lows. The highs were clearly the months of April, May, and little bit of June where we were contenders to win almost every race. Having won Darlington, almost winning the Coke 600, and just a number of second-place finishes including a near-miss at Talladega...that was a really great time for us in this season.”

Notably, Keselowski earned his best finishes through April, May and June. As mentioned before, his sole win of the year too came during that time.

“My goal in 2024 as we stared the season was to win multiple races and go deep into the playoffs. Although we won a race we didn't win multiple races and we did not have the playoffs that we wished to have. A little bit bittersweet to miss those goals,” Brad Keselowski added.

A new season means a new array of opportunities for RFK Racing. As per reports, the North Carolina-based outfit will field a third car in 2025.

RFK Racing crew chief shares thoughts on upcoming “challenge” for Brad Keselowski

When Brad Keselowski left Team Penske and purchased an ownership stake at what previously used to be known as Roush Fenway Racing, he had just one vision: rebuild the team, expand, and win. His maiden season as a driver-owner wasn’t that impressive, but the then two-car team picked up momentum from 2023 onwards.

2023 and 2024 witnessed Keselowski and his teammate Chris Buescher delivering five combined wins besides 31 top-5 finishes. When Buescher won the regular season finale at Daytona last year, his fellow racers realized the threat that this team posed.

And now, things are about to go up a notch with the third car. However, there’s a “big challenge” to overcome, said Buescher’s crew chief Scott Graves.

“Brad’s been open about wanting RFK to be a three-car team from day one," Graves told SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. “While it didn’t happen as quickly as he hoped, the growth has been on target.”
“It’s a big challenge to keep that level of performance and not let the third team slow us down,” he explained.

Former Stewart-Haas Racing driver and 2013 NASCAR Modified Series champion Ryan Preece will pilot the third car; the No. 60 Ford Mustang, which is expected to make its full-time debut on February 2 at Bowman Gray Stadium.
