NASCAR Cup Series driver Brad Keselowski recently expressed his views on the new lifter system that will be installed on race cars. Keselowski believes the innovation offers significant advantages and has praised NASCAR's decision to adopt it.
Keselowski pilots the #6 Ford for RFK Racing, competing full-time in the Cup series. The veteran driver has secured championship titles in both, the Xfinity series, and the Cup series. Keselowski has driven down victory lane 76 times throughout his NASCAR career, across all three of their divisions.
Earlier this year, NASCAR introduced an innovation designed to prevent cars from becoming stranded due to flat tires. Teams are now permitted to equip their cars with a lifter system attached to the rear dampers. This system assists in raising the car, providing a solution in case of a flat tire during a race.
In a recent interview with Fox Sports journalist Bob Pockrass, Keselowski was asked whether RFK would use the new system, and what he thought about it. Here's what he said (via Bob Pockrass on X):
"I don't think we've decided yet but the concept is good. If you have a flat tire, you can easily move on and not slow down the show or lose laps yourself. So, I think it's a great idea and NASCAR is trying to solve some of the challenges of the Next-Gen car, and this is a good step forward."
Keselowski is currently P9 in the Cup Series driver standings and has 615 points to his credit. The 40-year-old's best finish came earlier this year when he drove down victory lane in the Goodyear 400 at Darlington Raceway. Besides his win, Keselowski has 10 top-ten and 7 top-five finishes in 22 race starts.
"Learned a lot from Brad Keselowski" - Joey Logano credits RFK driver for his record at Richmond
Team Penske's driver of the #22 Ford, Joey Logano holds an impressive average finish of 9.7 at the Richmond Raceway. As NASCAR returns to Richmond after a two-week hiatus, Logano shared his thoughts on Brad Keselowski's impact on his success at Richmond.
Keselowski and Joey Logano share a long-standing friendship and were teammates at Penske Racing for nine years before Keselowski departed to co-own and compete for RFK Racing.
Recently, Logano was asked during an interview to explain why Richmond is one of his favorite tracks.
"There's a few things that kind of go into that. Honestly, I learned a lot from Brad [Keselowski] when he was my teammate on how to get around that place. I was able to use that for quite a few years." (via Fox Sports)
Joey Logano secured his spot in the 2024 playoffs by winning the Ally 400, breaking a 49-race winless streak. With a strong history at Richmond, Logano is a top contender to emerge victorious in the upcoming race on Sunday.
